Amie Stuart

Growing up, Amie Stuart wanted to be a lawyer and a psychologist. Obviously, she's seen the error of her ways, though she's never settled down in any profession until she took up writing two years ago. She considers all those other jobs research for the writing gig.

Ashley Kath-Bilsky

The world of make-believe has enchanted Ashley since childhood. Whether that magical place was found within the pages of a book or the flickering images on a movie screen, she wanted to be a part of it. Perhaps that's why she thought becoming an actress to be her destiny. But while a scholarship student at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Los Angeles, she was given an opportunity to write. The result - a play entitled "The Treehouse Still Stands" - was later performed at the prestigious Actors Studio-West. From that point on, nothing compared to the process of creating a story and characters that would touch people's hearts. "Although I loved acting," Ashley said, "as a writer, I experienced more creative freedom. Basically, there is no limit to the imagination and that's pretty hard to resist."

Today, as a multi-award winning novelist, Ashley writes Historical Romance. Whether set in Regency England, the Highlands of Scotland, or nineteenth century Texas, her books offer unforgettable characters, compelling, suspenseful plots, and a beautiful love story. Brenda Chitwood

As one of the hundreds of avid readers who decided they could write a better book, Brenda found out the hard way, it isn’t as easy as it sounds. With the support of the wonderful published and yet to be published “Rosebuds” she has been working on a science fiction manuscript with the plan of entering a few contests, polishing and tweaking, then being discovered. Dreams do happen.

She and her Miniature Schnauzer, Sam live near Ft. Worth. When not involved as the Yellow Rose Contest Coordinator for Print, she loves to travel and plotting murder and mayhem with her fellow writers.

Caroline Clemmons

Caroline Clemmons loves writing romances and mysteries about contemporary and historical Texas. In addition to being mom to two daughters, Caroline's work experience includes newspaper reporter and featured columnist, assistant to the managing editor of a psychology journal, and bookkeeper. Caroline and her aerospace engineer husband are living happily ever after on a small acreage in Parker County, Texas with their two attack cats, Delilah and Sebastian. Denise Belinda McDonald

Denise Belinda McDonald started her writing career at the tender age of eight. Her stories have changed over the years, but not her love for telling tales. An overactive imagination and a propensity to embellish have kept her books rich with lovable characters and interesting twists. She belongs to several writers groups, a few of which she has served on the boards.

Juliet Burns

Having had the good luck to be born in Texas, Juliet Burns can’t imagine living anywhere else. She’s blessed to share her life with a supportive husband, three children, and a sweet Golden Retriever. She likes to think her emotional nature — sometimes referred to as moodiness by those closest to her — has found the perfect outlet in writing stories filled with passion and romance. Juliet loves reading romance novels and believes they have the power to change lives with their message of eternal love and hope. Born and raised in West Texas, Lynn was a voracious reader from the start. Beginning with Winnie the Pooh, progressing to Charlotte’s Web, and Nancy Drew mysteries, then Gone With the Wind. Dreaming up new story lines and endings for each story led her to believe she was creative all–especially when art didn’t work out. The dream of writing was born.

After several stops and starts and many years of procrastination, she decided to get serious. After eleven years in the hospitality industry she returned to college and now has a public service career. Lynn is currently working on several projects and pursuing her dream career of becoming a published writer of her favorite genre–romance. But, reading is still her favorite hobby. Madeline Smyth

At the age of thirteen, Charlotte Bronte awakened Madeline's soul; during her teenage years, Victoria Holt stirred her soul; and, during her early adult years, Kathleen Woodiwiss, Judith McNaught, and Heather Graham fed her soul. Filling in the cracks, she devoured hundreds of Harlequin Presents and Harlequin Romance novels. However, instead of becoming a romance writer, she became a lawyer, finding her creative voice in the form of award-winning published legal scholarship.

A couple of years ago, she decided to fulfill her long held desire, and become a romance writer as well as a lawyer. Since then, she has written seven contemporary series romances (Harlequin Presents-type romances), and one historical romance. Currently, she is working on a second historical, which will be linked to her first historical. She is a member of RWA, Yellow Rose RWA, and The Romantic Novelists Association. Mary Dickerson

Mary Dickerson’s love of romance novels began with Rebecca. Victoria Holt and Mary Stewart soon followed, and she never looked back. Her career as an international flight attendant gave her inspiration for exotic locales and dashing heroes, yet the call to write remained unanswered. After many years of procrastination, she penned the first few words of A Note of Promise which was named a 1999 Golden Heart Finalist by Romance Writers of America.

A member of RWA since 1998, Mary is proud to be a member of several online chapters, including the Golden Network. In 2001, she co-founded the Yellow Rose RWA to bring a friendly, welcoming atmosphere to romance authors in the North Texas area. Now a long distance member, Mary resides in the Cincinnati area with her real-life hero and two extremely spoiled dogs.

Michelle Miles

Michelle Miles writes in several genres but finds she enjoys creating other worlds best of all. She doesn’t let working full time slow her down and has numerous projects underway. Talk Dirty To Me and Nice Girls Do are part of her Coffee House Chronicles, a contemporary sensual trilogy, and are both available now from Samhain Publishing. The third and final book, Take Me I'm Yours, is underway. Michelle’s time travel adventure, A Bend In Time, is now available in print from Samhain and Amazon.Com. The second installment, A Break In Time, is now available in ebook from Samhain and will available in print in August 2008.

Nikki Hollaway

Nikki Hollaway began writing when she was ten, but it wouldn't be until high school that she'd read her very first romance novel, Petals on the Wind by Kathleen Woodiwiss. After that, she knew everything she'd been writing had been romance. Nikki prides herself on being a romance writer, but she is also a mom, a wife, a full-time university student, a part-time file clerk, and a studying chef de cuisine. When she isn't refereeing, loving, studying, working, or whipping up good eats, Nikki still somehow manages to write or else the voices in her head start to drive her crazy! Nikki Hollaway's short romance, A Lady in Deed, will be included in the Love, Texas Style anthology and will be available Spring 2008 from The Wild Rose Press.

Sandy Crowley

Sandy Crowley loves mountains, large animals, and challenges. When a career opportunity transferred her husband back to the Rocky Mountains, she happily followed. She now rides the wilderness areas, watches deer and elk graze through her yard, and writes romantic suspense. A PRO since 2003, she will soon finish her fourth manuscript. It is the second of four linked books that incorporate her passion for driving race cars.

Sandy Jones

Sandy's love for reading started with the complete collection of Nancy Drew books she received on her seventh birthday. After reading each one, she started on The Hardy Boys and Trixie Belden series and by the time she was nine, she had completed her own manuscript of a young girl and boy on a search for a stolen book in the desert. Complete with trap doors to secret places and talking camels, it was her first attempt at a genre today called 'paranormal'. Of course, it was only ninety pages long and contained no romance, but it whetted her appetite for writing.

After raising a family and a career in nursing, Sandy started writing seriously for publication just a few years ago. Believing the world a magical place, she writes contemporary romance and young adult fantasy that includes myths, legends, and guardians of secret treasures.

Sandy Swanberg

Sandy holds two jobs, Senior Analyst for a major airline and pre-published author. Sandy says playing with imaginary friends is something she never out grew so instead of checking herself in to the funny farm (because her insurance doesn't cover it) she might as well write about them. Sandy writes contemporary, futuristic and paranormal romance and loves reading, traveling and the company of good friends.

Sharon Rowe

Born in Houston, Texas, Sharon Rowe moved to Dallas when she was four and early on fell in love with the pleasures of reading. Gone With The Wind and the novels of Kathleen Woodiwiss were her introductions to romantic fiction, and she knew she'd found her genre. She has completed five novels and has served as an officer in the Trinity Writer's Workshop and the Yellow Rose chapter of RWA.

As a young woman Sharon spent three years in Israel, where she lived on a kibbutz and volunteered for the Israeli army. After a successful career at IBM, where she met her husband of 31 years, Don, Sharon invented and patented the unique Literati bookmark which she now markets nationwide through galleries and craft shows.
